Event comments:

This race had a whopping 38,000 pp registered. The sheer number of entrants made me think it was going to be a mess; rather, this was well-organized and SO much fun. Charleston is a teriffically fun city to visit. Book hotel reservations early and consider staying on outskirts or across the river and visiting downtown vs. staying and paying extra. Book reservations for meals, too! Race specific: stay warm at the start; grab a water before you hit the bridge -- it is a longer climb than you think!! Very fun if you enjoy downhill running (fast)! Tell family to park and walk. I met folks on the steps of the Knights of Columbus building - which was a great central spot - and has restrooms and Bloody Mary's at the end!
