Swim
Comments: Looking at the pace per 1500, I can't complain due to the insane waves. I also can't complain being 2/126 starters. What would you do differently?: IDK///the waves were terrible. The first 100 meters was bad, but I think most others used too much energy as I was definitely not the 2nd person rounding that first buoy. I am pleased with my ability to have maintained good consistency/pace through the race. Transition 1
Comments: My T1 was faster than my T2! What would you do differently?: Keep practicing the removal of the wetsuit. Bike
Comments: I had the lowest bike average of the top 10 racers. This performance keeps me from being consistently in the top 5 of my races. Ex: 2nd in the swim, 3rd in the run, 25th on the bike. I could go elite if I got my bike to 22 + MPH average. Average bike cadence seems low. A lot of new people racing today which is cool, but when the announcer says to keep right, and the rules say to keep right, and you're getting passed by someone who announces "On the left," Get your butt to the right, please! What would you do differently?: I NEED TO WORK ON MY BIKE!!! Note Average bike cadence seems low. Transition 2
Comments: I almost ran over corporate challenge relay members b/c they were hoarding the area and I couldn't get through to rack my bike. What would you do differently?: IDK, run over people...j/k. Run
Comments: At the u-turn, I saw a guy in the age group and kept on his tail for the last half. He never knew I was behind him, though I had trouble to pass him in the last mile as my legs started tightening up. I kept thinking of the book, "Born to Run" that talks of the need to run only as fast as the thing chasing you. This guy helped me push to my best run performance yet. What would you do differently?: Learn to push thyself greater than what I could imagine. I wanted to keep a 7:00/mile pace and accomplished a 6:30/mile pace. The same should be applied to my cycling! Post race
Warm down: Free stretching by Men's Health. THANK YOU!!! What limited your ability to perform faster: More/effective bike training. Event comments: I have to say this is my best race. This is my second time to the podium, but I've never ranked so high in the age group as today. A personal best. Last updated: 2009-12-27 12:00 AM

Same old, same old. Seems to work though! Protein shake, let the dog out, feed the dog, kiss the wife good bye, double-check the list (which needs some revisions I think), head out with my iPod pumping great tunes on the way. Set up transition near a point where I stick up my flag (one of my best ideas EVER). Potty break (again).
Stretching stretching stretching...whenever possible. Waters were terrible...took, a swim out to test just how bad it was going to be.
