Swim
Comments: Final results aren't in yet and no timing chips/belts were used. What would you do differently?: Absolutely nothing. I had a good rhythm for this first race. I'm sure I could do more sprint training to work towards a faster speed but I was very happy with my pace. I was breathing hard but wasn't winded during or after my swim. Transition 1
Comments: No wetsuit used so I only had to remove my cap and goggles with I did without problems. No suit to remove and I chose to put my socks and shoes on by my bike. Didn't run with my bike as the distance was very short and I wasn't about to try to jump on my bike so I straddled it at the line and started off. What would you do differently?: Nothing unless I really want to compete to win a place. Bike
Comments: Plain and simple - Had a good ride and felt good about it. What would you do differently?: Get better on peddling through the curves - still a bit nervous and tend to slow down too much. Work on hills (bridges) more often. Transition 2
Comments: No jumping off for me. Took cleats off and running shoes on by my bike, put my hat on and drank some more gatorade. Put my chapstick and some chews in my suit pockets from the bike ride so I felt as ready as I could for the run. Run
Comments: It was hot but not as humid as the previous few days so I didn't feel overly thirsty especially with having my chapstick with me. I was just feeling the effects of the swim and bike and slowed down. Did a lot of fast walking then jogging. I was fine with that. What would you do differently?: Have a palm holder with a squeeze bottle of gatorade with me throughout the run. I'll have to try to do more jogging than walking although my walking pace was pretty good. Post race
Warm down: Hydrated, ate a banana and walked around. Needed to leave to go to work. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing in particular I just need to do it more often until I can do all jogging after swimming and biking. Event comments: A great first Triathlon. I'm very glad I registered and set my sights for it. I'm very proud of myself for the training and completion. Last updated: 2009-12-28 12:00 AM

Early arrival. Took bike and gear to packet pick up - while bike was getting air in tires with Paradise Bikes I went to pick up my packet. After racking my bike and setting up transition area I ate a nutri-grain bar and drank water and gatorade then took a bathroom break. Talked to friends and calmed down.
Ranking: Not done by age group therefore I was 76 / 89 Women including 1 DQ
Warmed up in the pool with a 200 Free/Breast easy swim. My first time in a 50m pool so I wanted to know really how long it felt. I really liked swimming in the 50m pool. I felt I took good long strokes with both free and breast.
