Pre-race routine:

Lets start this at about 10:30 Saturday night when my daughter started throwing up. No idea why but the poor thing really hit it hard. She woke up several more times that night and at one point said to her dad who was up with her.."Daddy I will see you at 3:47" Apparently it was 2:47 and this was an hourly puking.

Needless to say I did not get much sleep. But got up and did my usual warm up at home on the ellitpical and the bike
Event warmup:

Met up with some of the other donkeys and stayed inside as long as possible. About 5 minutes pre-race headed out and ran with one of my competitors who I have gotten to know pretty well. We eyed out the rest of the competition and saw one girl who we could tell was going to be top 3. (she ended winning with a smoking sub 17 time..and she was an NCAA finallist in the 5,000 so I don't feel too bad)

Comments:

The funny thing is I didn't feel like I was having a great run. I had raced a total of 20 miles the weekend before and I was sore! My legs hurt all week and were cramping Saturday night. My stride was ok but I didn't really loosen up until the 2nd mile. But I still got a PR. Not going to argue with that.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Lets call it a Warm Up not a Warm down..I watched the other donkeys, Stacey, Pete, Nicole, patrick and Kevin(?) finnish as well as some of my other friends and PRO teamates finnish. A lot of them had great results!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

DjDavey wasn't yelling at me enough ;) No he was! I can't think of much.

I usually am very nervous before races and I was a little but I also said to myself...you have had a tough last couple of months..lots of racing..what happens happens...and I knew that I was capable of running a fast 5K if my body was up to it. Thsi really helped.

Event comments:

This was the last race of the RACC Winter 5K series. I was in the lead going into it for the Female overall Champion.. I won!!!

This series has been great. RACC does a great job putting on races.
