Comments: Overall it went well - I never crashed into my lane mate (who did end up lapping me) and I didn't crash into the rope so I was happy, additionally I swam the 1000 a bit quicker than I had anticipated. What would you do differently?: More training in the pool to improve stamina - maybe some suggestions on form. Transition 1
Comments: No transition time because it was lumped in with run time - however I totally blew the transition because I had to stop to pee - note to self, go several times before the start of the race. With no time on the transition I kind of sauntered through it - which is not good. What would you do differently?: Next time I will make sure to have taken care of "use of the facilities" and I will actually treat it like a transition. Run
What would you do differently?: I was glad that I wore my trail running shoes as opposed to my regular running shoes but next time I think I will wear warmer pants and try to pick up the pace. Post race
Warm down: Brisk walk around the parking lot. What limited your ability to perform faster: Better sleep the night before would have helped as well as a bit warmer running conditions and not having to pee at transition time but cest la vie - it will be better next time. Didn't get home from our friends' house until midnight and unforunately didn't sleep well. Got up at 6:20 grabbed my stuff scarfed down a banana and a peanut butter cliff bar and headed to the rec center.
Swam a couple of quick laps in the pool
