Run
Comments: It was a PR day. I thought the wind would be a factor and it really wasn't. I planned to go out strong and just try and hold on instead of doing negative splits. That worked out well for me. You had to work hard against the wind but the wind really help later in the race. What would you do differently?: Really nothing. I ran is shoes I bought the day before. I know, you should never do that but this is not the first time I have done that. No blisters or any kind of problems. I meant to get them earlier in the week but my travel schedule prevented me from doing that. It worked out well. Post race
Warm down: Walked a mile to my car and raced back home (hour drive) to make it to my daughter's soccer game. Stood for an hour in the freezing rain and wind watching. I didn't want to sit down. What limited your ability to perform faster: My race weight. I can probably take another 2-3 mins off my overall time if I would have been down 10 more pounds Event comments: This is the one race I do every year. I have been doing every year since 1998. It's very well organized but this year they gave out less food at the post race party. Fun day! Anyone reading this should consider this race for the future. 30,000 runners makes for a very exciting atmosphere. Last updated: 2010-01-02 12:00 AM

I always take a shower before this race. I know that its all in vain but it wakes me up and makes me feel refreshed. Got ready and drove the hour down to Indy. The hour drive gives me time to think about the race ahead.
Found Chris and Lane before the race and ran a mile with them before going to our corrals. Really a pretty simple warm up. There are some real advantages for being a guy and having to go to the bathroom with 30,000 other runners. The port o potties were swamped.
