Pre-race routine:

Porty potty and check in to race. Had my normal oatmeal walnut and raisin for breakfast half a gatorade and water bottle. Packed up for cold drive.
Event warmup:

Stretching and jog in place about 10 min before the race start short walk to start.

Ran hard for me. Got caught behind some slower people had to wait for an opening and plan your pass which was definitely different. Cant wait for my xterra races this year. First trail run for me. Felt good and had fun.
What would you do differently?:

Actually run the course if possible next time just to get an idea atleast the hill portion.

Warm down:

Bagel and snacks while sitting in the sun stretching.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not having done any trail runs prior to the race. Not smart on my part.

Event comments:

Not much of a party afterwards but it was cold. Needed more people on the course atlest where some of the turns were. Overall awesome experience for me.

Course: Twisty and bumpy with a good two miles of ups and downs. All off road short portion 100yd on sidewalk and street. True trail run.
