Run
Comments: Felt very good for the first 14k. Then it started getting harder, my legs, feet and ankles started hurting. The last km was the worst, it hurt really bad, it was by the river so the wind picked up and had the rain right in my face... I started getting cold and put my hood on to finish the race. I was completly wet and cold! good thing they had foiled blankets at the finish line! What would you do differently?: Nothing, I had a very good race, was pretty constant in my pace until the last 5 km. For the last 5k, I had trouble keeping up the pace because of my legs. I need to continue working on my endurance. I was still very happy of the results, I improved my time by 11 minutes in 7 months! I'm going to keep up the work to PR again in october :-) Post race
Warm down: Walked to the car to change clothes fast! Then we left right away so I stretch at home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough running endurance. I will keep on training and doing long runs and I will start doing long rides too so this will help me built endurance. Event comments: The race was great! Very well organized. Had plenty of foil blankets to keep warm, plenty to drink, and eat! Volunteers were very nice and cheering us on all the way in the rain! Thank you all so much! It made the difference for us runners! Since the start was only at 10:00 A.M., I had time to eat a nice breakfast and a coffee. Got ready and arrive there at 8:45. Got my bib and chip and walked to the start.
I jogged about 5 min before the start.
