Swim
  • 09m 55s
  • 500 meters
  • 11s / 100 meters
Comments:

Felt like a good swim. Checked my garmin upon exiting and time was about a minute and a half longer than I wanted it to be.
What would you do differently?:

Swim faster
Transition 1
  • 01m 48s
Comments:

Things went well. Didn't realize I forgot to put on my race belt until I was 5 miles into the race.
What would you do differently?:

Be faster
Bike
  • 39m 21s
  • 14 miles
  • 21.35 mile/hr
Comments:

Heart rate was up in the 160's the whole time. I like to be in the 150's for the bike, so the last 5 miles I took it pretty easy to try and get it back down. I wish the two pieces of roadkill would have been removed. My stomach wasn't 100%, so I almost yacked when I caught the stench of the dead possum.
What would you do differently?:

Go faster while maintaining a lower heart rate.
Transition 2
  • 01m 26s
Run
  • 32m 53s
  • 3.5 miles
  • 09m 24s  min/mile
Comments:

I tweeked my ankle a week before the race while doing some sprints and adding that to my post Buffalo Springs recovery, I wasn't where I wanted to be training wise for this race. It showed on the run. I used my HIM infiti drink on the bike and it didn't sit well in my stomach. Started to feel better around mile 2, but the race was over before I knew it and the run had once again pulled my overall results down.
What would you do differently?:

run more and faster
Post race
Warm down:

Sat down and ate some food with my buddy who had just completed his first triathlon. Introduced myself to Ritter since he was sitting across from me.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training and my tweeked left ankle.

Event comments:

Great event ! You could tell the director put alot thought into the event. Thank you for having gatorade at the end. I've been at too many races and its just water (sometimes warm water at that) I like the age group ranking on each leg of the results, but would still like to see the overall results on each leg as well.
