Comments: Not sure if my talking to myself helped or not...but NO PANIC ATTACK!!! Not happy with the overall time...but very happy I didn't freak out. Improved from the 17:23 time of last year. What would you do differently?: I need to get faster!!!! 15 minutes is way too long. Transition 1
Comments: Okay transition. Since it was wet/rainy gear wasn't as organized as should have been. Improved on 4:17 of last year. What would you do differently?: try going with out socks next race? Bike
Comments: Felt good overall. Started to get a cramp in left calf last couple of miles. Pushed through. Improved on 44:33 of last year. What would you do differently?: Nothing...again. Just need to get stronger/faster. Need 20 mph's next time! Transition 2
Comments: Calf was tight so didn't run through Transition. The wife was heckling me to run...but just couldn't!!!! Improved on the 1:41 time of last year What would you do differently?: Drink more on the bike...maybe stay hydrated better so wouldn't get a cramp next time. Run
Comments: Between pushing through on the bike and my calf...I didn't get comfortable until about a mile in. Then that is when I started to pass some folks. Last year - 25:49 - Funny the best sport is the only area where I didn't improve on from last year.... Post race
Warm down: Walked around...drink water...ate a bit. Never really hungry after race. Hang out with the wife and kids until the rain picked up again. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enought OWS...tight calf. Event comments: Great event put on by Colleen and the Trisharks!!! Great volunteers!!! Last updated: 2010-01-13 12:00 AM

Two banana's...was going to eat my bagel, but never got around to it. Little nervous as I hit the "Panic" button in the WOW the previous Wednesday so was hoping that it wouldn't happen in the race!Raining/overcast, not sure what was going to happen with the weather. At 7:30a event official announced that we wouldn't go at 8a. Then 10 minutes later they were scrambling to tell everyone that we were going to go at 8:00am!!!
I was able to get into the water and wade a bit...get my face wet. Just told myself to stay calm...stay to the outside and use long strokes. Had my old hockey coaching saying in my head to link long strokes...strides...carve a c and touch your knee.
