Run
Comments: The first 1.5k is slightly up hill... I could see I was going way too fast as my planned pace but I was feeling good and strong and I said to myself, go for it! So I did! The mid section is pretty flat so I kept a good pace and was actually feeling very good! The last 1.5k is mostly downhill, I was starting to struggle... I felt tired, my legs hurt, my lungs hurt but I was telling myself that it was almost over and I had to go on because I was doing a very good PR so I kept on going to the finish. When I looked at my watch after I crossed the finish line, I almost cryed because I was so happy and proud! It was my best time for a 5k! What would you do differently?: Nothing! I pushed myself and it worked. I was planning a 28 min time for my 5k but I did a lot better because I listened to my body instead of my watch :-) Post race
Warm down: Walked around the stadium looking for my daughters and my husband who were also running the 5k. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing, I was at my best that day! Event comments: I love the Montreal Marathon. For us, it's a family race. Every year, we all run it and always have a blast! It fun to stay a little to see the first marathoners arrive in the stadium and cheer them on with the croud! To see those international athletes is very inspiring :-) Last updated: 2010-01-14 12:00 AM

Had the same breakfast as all my races, 2 toasts peanut butter and jam with a small coffee. Then got there and drove around to find a parking.
Walked around, jumped a little and just waited for the start.
