Swim
Comments: Pretty good swim. I got out front and stayed just behind the 2 leaders. So my wave was the 5 wave to go off in the sprint. THere was a womans wave, then mens wave, then womens wave, then my wave. Each wave went off 3 minutes apart. SO my plan was to pass as many people during this race as possible and maybe all of them. SIghted well and swam at a hard pace. Only had to weave abit to get around the waves before me. GOt out just before 8 minutes and had to run up a short hill t transition. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Real happy Transition 1
Comments: SO our racks were numbered and I got an end, which I like but we were on the other side of transiton. SO I had to run forever to get out. Actually pretty good.. What would you do differently?: nada Bike
Comments: Went out pretty hard with the #1 Oly distance guy. He wsa in the elite wave. ANyway, we traded places the whole bike ride. Of course I only had to ride 11, and he had to double that. SO I was impressed. He ended up 4th over all.. I then hammmered on the way back and this dide would come by, so back and forth we went. I made sure to be the 3 bike lengths back and I am sur ehe did too but never looked. Hammered hard to T2 and jumped off ready to run. Beat the 2nd place guy by over 2 inutes here. What would you do differently?: Nada Transition 2
Comments: Decent. Had to run in the bike shoes as we had to go over many bumps in transiion so I didn't want to lose a shoe. Had a hard time getting the shoes over my heals today. Run
Comments: Ran about as well as I ever had. Caught almost everyone but 5 guys from 3 waves ahead. Just kept pressing the pace. What would you do differently?: nothing Post race
Warm down: Walked back aways to cheer my wife to the finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: nothing Event comments: WOw, what a super fun, organized race in Winona Minnesota. People are friendly the race director really did his work! Great times. If you live in Minneapolis, you need to come down and do the race. David THompson was here and crushed it! Overall I was very happy. I set the course record by 3 minutes almost on the nose. Beat everyone else by that same margin. Not bad for and old guy. Last updated: 2010-01-26 12:00 AM

We stayed in a Campground just south of Winona about 6 miles. So my wife and I woke up and ate the regular mix 1 shake, cliff bar and banana. Of course I had coffee as well. Packed up the gear and headed to transitions. Of course we were the first ones thier and had our pick of spots.
Quick run with the wife with some pickups added in. Had to leave transition at 7:00. Went to the race meeting and put on the wetsuit.
