Pre-race routine:

Had my pancakes and syrup. Glass of milk and glass of oj 2 hours before race. Was thinking to Gu right before race but didn't. had a couple sips of water before start.
Event warmup:

Ran for about 10 minutes to loosen up and stop at a port-a-potty.

Comments:

Start of the run was very easy-going. Lisa and I started with Craig and Suj from work. We started at the rear of the pack. It was a very easy pace but I didn't have my garmin so I didn't know any of my splits. I'm sure I ran the second half faster than the third. Craig met me before the finish line and ran with me through the chute. I had one last surge and passed a couple who passed me just before. I'm happy with my performance. I felt very confidant and comfortable. My running is slowly getting better and I hope to build on this performance.
What would you do differently?:

Charge Garmin night before. Rookie mistake.
Post race
Warm down:

Had to sit down after my sprint at the end. Had a bottle of water, banana, a trail mix bar and a couple small slices of pizza.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Still building my base. Only started running consistently one year ago, so I have plenty of room to grow. I've got the tools, just need to sharpen.

Event comments:

This was a very good race. Well organized and at a great location. Had never been to the Fishhawk area so I was impressed.
