Run
Comments: goal was between 10-11min. pace but after the hills & rocks decided to go for 11-12 min. pace, felt good but had to stop at one aid station to get vaseline for some hot spots on my feet. Wore my trail shoes, which I hadn't worn in a while. They saved me from going down a few times on the rocks and screwing up the ankles. I thought I might bet between 2:30 - 2:45 but last 2 miles calves started doing their spasms. Locked me up, and walked and jogged some for the final 2 miles. Drank small gatorade at 5 stations. What would you do differently?: Drink more the night before, drink more an hour before race, and did I say drink more, oh & take vaseline with me for any hot spots Post race
Warm down: was moving quite tenderly, pelvic areas were very weak What limited your ability to perform faster: not enough hydration Event comments: Its a serve yourself kink of race but it only cost $25, One lady gets it together, its her land. Talking with the ultra runners was cool. My wife ran it as well and was the 2nd female at 2:24. I won't know about my standings until they put it up on the website Last updated: 2010-01-29 12:00 AM
