Pre-race routine:

Spent the weekend in Carlsbad so it was nice to be able to get up later than usual for a race. Got to the race site a little after 7 and spent some time looking for parking, which I got quite a ways from the transition area. Got all set up and to the start with lots of time to spare.

I had a lot of anxiety about this swim which is pretty unlike me. I felt OK once I got in the water. I was about a minute slower on this swim then last time.
What would you do differently?:

Need more time in the pool.

My goal here was to take it easy and leave something for the run. Last time I did this race my comment was that I went too hard and I blew up on the run. I was about 2.5 mins. slower this time.

Had a decent run for me, I had enough energy to push the pace on the uphill finish. Only time I walked was while going up the steep hill from the beach to the street.

Warm down:

Easy walk and had some food and drink. Found Val and Evan then got my stuff and we all left.

Event comments:

Last triathlon for a while. I am having trouble finding the time to seriously train on a regular basis and my motivation is down since my friends are taking time off as well. I will come back again once some time frees up for me.
