Comments: First time using G310xt Worked great. Although map was wacky. When away from pack was able to go side to side with proper sharkfin technique. Far buoy sighting was a little difficult. Overall exactly what I thought I would do. What would you do differently?: First race since taking 16 months off. About what I trained for. Base should increase over rest of this year. Transition 1
Comments: Need to work on getting into shoes again. A little clumsy. Still better than running in shoes though. What would you do differently?: Just need more miles under my belt to get HR down. Way off the chart. AVG 155 MAX 174 TOO HIGH for BIKE. Bike
Comments: Nice fast course. Lookout for manhole covers on bike path. On first lap I followed the WasteManagment truck for about two blocks, just what you need when sucking air. :) What would you do differently?: Just need more miles under my belt to get HR down. Way off the chart. Transition 2
Comments: Did a lot better with riding on top of shoes. What would you do differently?: Did not spin enough during last half mile. Had to do extra stretching to loosen up for run. Run
Comments: Started to get upper thigh cramps around mile 5.5. Went away after walking a bit. What would you do differently?: Need more base. Have been doing HR BASE training and this did not appear to help my run HR. Need to include more intervals I guess. Slowest TRI run I have done. Post race
Warm down: Drink water and say down. Did not do proper warm down. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just started training again after 16 months in March. Not enough base/core built up yet. First race in 16 months. Good to be back.
Lost the screw to my air valve trying to fill my front tire in parking lot. Found it 15 mins before trans closed. Could not add any air to front tire.
Made it on time though and was able to setup and relax before the race.
5:30AM Ate CLIF Bar, Coffee, One Hammer Gel. 6:55 one GU pack with GRade.
Stretch and jog to beach.
