Run
Comments: PR by 10 minutes! Originally planned on running just to finish since my knee has been bothering me. Got to the first mile marker under 10 which is the fastest mile Ive done since I started so I decided to keep going until I couldnt. HR was high but I never felt like I couldnt keep going. Knee was fine during the run although I knew it would make me pay for it the next day. What would you do differently?: Not much, just keep training. Felt like my pre-race nutrition was on target. No dehydrated feeling like the last race. This was the first time that Ive managed to see the benefits of all the training Ive put in so far. Still a long way to go but this result will keep me motivated. Post race
Warm down: Not much. Caught my breathe, grabbed some oranges and my MCM registratioin code and walked to the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. Just need to keep training. Event comments: Overall I coulndt be happier with the results. Im still on a little high from PRing by 10 minutes. Hopefully Ill be able to go sub-1hr for the next race! Woke up around 5:15. Showered, downed a banana and some Apple-Cinnamon Hammer gel chased with a couple Red Bulls. It was below freezin before the start so I tried to keep everything somewhat warm by sitting in the car until about 10 minutes to start.
Not much. Jogged the 400 or so yds from the car to the start line.
