Swim
Comments: have to get better breathing and falling in my rhythm, may not let the anxiety mess with me What would you do differently?: give a more accurate time for the start to not have to start behind people slower than me, that end up blocking me Transition 1
Comments: for it being the first time - I am ok with this What would you do differently?: wear a pair of trishorts, to save the time that it took me to get in the shorts. Also maybe not wearing gloves for the bike ride Bike
Comments: Loved the bike ride, kept on passing people which surprised and motivated me a lot. Tried to keep in mind to leave enough energy for the run What would you do differently?: go harder Transition 2
Comments: it felt like this transition went so smooth but it took me longer than I thought What would you do differently?: for next race considering body glide in shoes and yankz to safe time for tying shoes Run
Comments: Oh well,my calf indeed felt like bricks for the first .7 miles, took the time to stretch really quick which helped but probably cost me a minute. Could have run faster and harder, but tried to pull another girl with me - maybe I am not competitive enough - but it is all about the fun! What would you do differently?: try to go harder and kick myself in the butt with those bricks Post race
Warm down: eh skipped that What limited your ability to perform faster: Well it was my first race so I didn't know how tough it would be and how hard I could go, also I didn't know how to handle transition. And I guess I didn't have the confidence that I could do well, so I limited myself by thinking I can't compete anyways Event comments: Well my ratings are not saying much as it was my first race - BUT I am glad I made this my first race!!! things packed the night before, only through bike on rack and took off. Already wearing the swimsuit underneath. Arrived, picked up packet and put all the race numbers on at the car - next time I would do that at transition area.
Breakfast; half a toast with peanut butter and some scrambled eggs - about 4 hours before race begin
no warm up, a little hopping up and down and stretching
