Run
Comments: There is a wall at the 20 mile mark. I had been told about it, and I met it. Walked about a mile, then ok to jog again. Ate a Gu each hour for the first 5 hours. Starving at mile 22, so a handful of pretzels, a 1/4 banana and an orange slice. Then felt better. Couldn't stomach any more Gu after that. What would you do differently?: Everything went fairly smooth for a first marathon I think. The weather threw me a little. Training runs have all been in freezing temps, then the weather decided to be 60 degrees and partly sunny. Post race
Warm down: Walk back to the car. Went to the mile 22 aid station to help with breakdown. What limited your ability to perform faster: Weight and lack of experience. Event comments: Very well stocked aid stations. Tons of volunteers. The expo is great. Tech shirts for the full mary, cotton for the other distances. Very well organized. Thankful for the early start. Largest finishers metal ever. The thing is huge and super tacky. Last updated: 2010-02-05 12:00 AM

Pasta for dinner the night before. Great night's sleep (thank you ambien). The usual peanut butter sandwich and banana for breakfast. Stomach was a bit upset, so I took an Immodium.
Besides the 4 months of training runs... a walk from car to race start. Started early, so only had to start with 300 folks.
