Swim
Comments: Had a good start to the swim, even with all the traffic. Actually being in traffic is an indication that the switch to breathing on every stroke to the first turn buoy has improved my performance. Swim would have been better if I had known the course was still a rectangle and not a triangle. Completely missed the second (yellow, non-triangle) turn buoy. I finally figured out where everyone was going and doubled back to the proper course. Added at least 50yds to my swim. All in all shaving off between 30sec to a 1min from previous swim times is good! What would you do differently?: Navigation Transition 1
Comments: Need to get new pedals and shoes, having real issues clipping in/out of bike What would you do differently?: Had a hard time running up the hill, ended up walking a bit (5 to 10yds)... real suffer-fest into T1 Bike
Comments: As always, fun great bike course, and typical drafting by a few *ssholes. Transition 2
Comments: Just about ate pavement at T2, uncliped right foot, came in hot, got my leg over and then could not unclip my left foot as I came around, a bit of balancing and finally free What would you do differently?: New pedals & clips for shoes Run
Comments: Legs were dead at first, really surprise the first mile was sub 8min/mile and then slowed down as I climbed back up to the YCMA. Need to work on keeping pace up. Post race
Warm down: Hanging with friend watching some buddies and the wife finish. Event comments: Great race, but SetupEvents is clearly starting to skimp on the post race. Good T-Shirt --- really good t-shirt. Last updated: 2010-02-07 12:00 AM

Started off Friday not feeling real good, went to be fairly early and was up at 5am thinking about not doing the race. Between the feeling crappy and the fecal contamination of the lake, I really did not have motivation for this race. Ended up getting the coffee going, eating a banana and a few bites of Alice's remaining PBJ sandwich (I hate peanut butter by the way...)
Got to site, got setup, ran up the bike exit and back, then a little ways out the run start and back. Headed over to the swim start, which due to afore mentioned contamination, was moved to the outdoor chapel for the swim start. It was fitting that we had to walk by the alter ( a larger 9' cross) on our way into the water...
