Pre-race routine:

The wife dropped me and a buddy off about an hour and a half before start. Walked around trying to stay warm as it was a bit chilly.
Event warmup:

No real warmup other than walking around. Some stretching.

Comments:

Felt good on the run. Up until this race, I had never ran over 9.2 miles in training. First race over 5K as well. Atmosphere was awesome and helped get me through to the end. Had a tough time after mile 10 1/2 to the end. Lack of distance training made it tough to turn the legs over but wouldn't let myself walk.
What would you do differently?:

I had done two long runs in the two months prior to race. I would add a couple more to include at least one 12 mile run.
Post race
Warm down:

A good stretch at the finish and walked around to keep everything somewhat loose.

Event comments:

Tough to rate this race as it was my first. I will be doing it again next year though.
