Pre-race routine:

Got up at about 4:30. Ate a protein bar and had some water and coffee.Got to the stadium where they were busing people over about 5:10, but didn't get parked until about 5:50. Traffic was ridiculous. Then waited in line for a bus for about 30 minutes. Finally got the race site about 6:30 or so only to wait in line to go to the bathroom. I guess it's to be expected for such a large race.
Event warmup:

Run from the port-a-potties to the start line when I realized they were starting the race about 10 minutes early.

Comments:

Since they started the race early, I was late to get to the starting line. I was supposed to start with Coral 3, but ended up going with Coral 6. So I then proceeded to weave in and out of the crowd for the next 13 miles. I PR'd this race by 26 seconds, so I shouldn;t complain too much, but I can;t help but think what my time could have been if it weren;t for the couple of 8 minute plus miles that were due to getting boxed in or stuck behind slower runners. Oh well.
What would you do differently?:

I guess get to the race extremely early with anticipation of an early start??

Jogged back to mile 12 to meet up with my son and other family members.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Having to start in the wrong corral due to the early start.

Event comments:

Very good race overall. They do a decent job considering the size of the race. Maybe could have found a way to funnel people into (and out of) the stadium a bit faster. Also, I understand the early start (bad weather approaching) but you just can;t change the start of a race like this the morning of. People were still getting off the buses when the gun went off. Even the 1st place overall women was late getting to the start because of the early start.
