Transition 1
Comments: As this race was an indoor tri, we had 10 mins to change out of our suits, and into dry bike/run clothes. Shoes for the bike were my running sneaks. Bike
Transition 2
Comments: 5 mins to walk around, stretch, and get HR down. Run
Comments: A little static w/ nothing to look at (and a little hot w/ out fans), but it was fun to compete on the gym floor w/ the "regular" gym patrons - felt like I was showing off a bit. It kept me from slowing down or walking at any point. Breathing and HR were good - didn't feel uncomfortable except in calves/ankles. What would you do differently?: Strengthen and stretch calves more - ouch! Also, need to focus more on diet - that extra 10 lbs. I'm carrying now is definitely slowing me down. Post race
Warm down: Walking, stretching, hydrating. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training - this was really a kickoff to the season - a benchmark. Now...game on! Event comments: Yay - I got 8/38 women! The events were well organized and run ontime by happy volunteers. I did bring three water bottles, one for each leg, and was glad I did, b/c they didn't provide water (other than the water fountains). The goodie bag was fun = a shopping tote, t-shirt, some snacks, and a nice medal. Photos were taken, and the finishing snacks were Moe's Mexican wraps - yum! There wasn't really a place to centrally congregate after a shower/eats, so no one stuck around to chat - that would have been fun. Overall, a fun race - would definitely check out this venue again.
