Pre-race routine:

Bagels and cranberry juice for breakfast
Event warmup:

With snow still on the ground in the shade and icicles still hanging on some of the rocks, warm up was anything to stay warm.
Run
  • 2h 23m 51s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 10m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

I was good for the first 5 mi, holding about a 9:30 pace, but the lingering chest cold got the better of me. Trying to pick up the pace induced a coughing fit til i slowed back down. The pain in my foot didn't help either. With the way the road kept slanting it was difficult to find portions of the road that was flat to run on...as i noticed quite a few people weaving back and forth to find that flat section of the road to run on.
What would you do differently?:

Not run.
Post race
Warm down:

walk to the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Fighting a chest cold and plantar fasciitis in the left foot.

Event comments:

For a $20 entry fee, you got a long sleeve cotton tee and a scenic run.
