Swim
Comments: A felt really comfortable on this swim. I was able to actually draft once in a while, and felt relaxed. Problems came about half way through when my goggles started leaking water and I had to stop at least 4 times to clear them out. That realy sucked because I had been keeping a good pace. Oh yeah and I cut my toe on a piece of coral while wading out to the start. What would you do differently?: Find better goggles I guess. Pay better attention to where I am walking so I don't cut myself Transition 1
Comments: Well this was mostly a good transition, However I had forgotten about my toe until I put on my shoes and realized my toe hurt, so as I was running out to the mount line I stopped because I thought I had some sand or gravel in my shoe. So I took off my shoe and sock and realized I had cut my toe. So this slowed me down a bit. Nothing I could do so I put my sock and shoe back on and took off. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: I maybe could have pushed myself a little more. I would have liked to have another 1mile and hour avg speed, but I wanted to make sure I had enough left to have a good run. I was on a rental bike that was just a tad short in the cockpit, but I really don't thin it affected me to much as I had no discomfort during the ride. I also lost my gps when I hit a rumble strip passing another rider. What would you do differently?: I need to train more on the bike at longer distances. Transition 2
Comments: This transition went fairly quick. I smacked the bike next to me spinng my bike around to get it in the rack but other than that it was all good. Toe was numb by then so I didn't even worry about it. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: This run felt really good. I was almost out of gas by the end, but I was able to run the whole thing, just nothing left to sprint to the finish. What would you do differently?: Train more Post race
Warm down: Not much here, just staggered around for a while got some fluids, showered off and waited for the food and beer. What limited your ability to perform faster: Could have trained a little harder I guess. I tried to pace myself enough to make sure I would not walk during my run. Event comments: This was an awesome race. Best run event I have been a part of. Last updated: 2010-02-14 12:00 AM
