Run
Comments: Great run course and and venue. Major complaint comes with the strollers and walkers starting out front and clogging the roadways. There were also numerous runners that started out front and walked within the first .25mi. It would be nice for us runners who didn't have to fight them. The first turn was within 100yards of the start, so congestion started early. Within .25mi of that, there was a large uphill along a bridge. Again, the congestion. After getting through the first mile, things thinned out and I was able to actually race. Maintained a great pace, feeling good throughout. Pretty comfortable pace. Ready and willing to turn up the speed toward the end, but had some intestine issues that thought otherwise. Had a feeling that turning it up would lead to disaster and really didn't want to deal with that. Overall, good race for me, and a new PR. Post race
Warm down: Walked through the finish, and LOOKED for the water table. One small table, grabbed some drink, and walked the .25mi to the car to get home. Not much. What limited your ability to perform faster: Burned off lots of time dodging the strollers at the beginning and wound up running through the grass at times. Honestly willing to bet I could've shaved :30sec off the first mile. Event comments: Last year (first ever) the streets were too narrow, and no timing chips. This year there were TONS of walkers and strollers just getting their 3miles in, and not a whole lot of organization at the finish line. Overall, good venue, good cause, good race. Just still needs a little more help turning this into a GREAT race. Last updated: 2010-02-16 12:00 AM

Went a little skimpy this morning.
Just sipped on a water bottle taking in ~12oz pre race. Nothing much for this run.
Jogged out 1/2mi at easy pace, returned with mixtures of strides and easy back to the start. Nothing much.
Jumped around some staying warm as well. Race start delayed by 10mins for whatever reason...
