Comments:

I warmed up a little just to get my heart rate up a bit. Hadn't been to the gym the whole week before due to a terrible head cold and being sick. But I wanted to rest up for this race.
What would you do differently?:

I would of stayed with my same work out routine and training prior to the race but due to being sick I needed to rest.

Comments:

This was my first time on my bike and very first time clicking in to my pedals. I was a little nervous about getting stuck. HA HA. Very first Duathlon and I would say my T1 should of been faster.
What would you do differently?:

I would not wear my headsweats hat and then have to adjust my ponytail. Not be so nervous getting on my bike and clicking my shoes in.

Comments:

1st time ever on my bike and I know that's a huge no no. It felt wonderful though. Although I NEED another seat. LOL Thank GOD for spin class 2x per week, I felt very strong and passed a lot of people.
What would you do differently?:

Learn a little more about shifting and getting into the aero position. I felt to unstable.

Comments:

My husband was there, he had already finished the race so I was talking with him a bit. Again, I had to adjust my ponytail to accomadate putting on my hat again. I drank some of my water because I could not get my water bottle out of the holder during the ride and I put drops in my eyes because my contacts were getting dry.
What would you do differently?:

Buy a Profile Design Aero Bottle!!! And, not talk to my husband during the transition. Cut off my hair so I don't have to worry about my ponytail. HA HA NOT! At least I didn't re-apply my lipstick though. ;)

Comments:

I was tired! I came into this with no conditioning the prior week because of illness and I was simply DONE. But, I only walked 3 little times and keep my head held high.
What would you do differently?:

I was thrilled for it being my very first race ever! I can't wait until the next one!!!
Post race
Warm down:

I don't think I did warm-down. I was just too darn excited!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Still being sick and feeling under the weather.

Event comments:

This was my first and it felt like my BEST experience! I can't wait to come back in April and do it again!
