Pre-race routine:

Tried to eat my oatmeal, some fruit and some yogurt but I was too nervous. I managed a few bites of each and 1/2 a cup of coffee. Had some water too! Thank goodness for gels!!
Event warmup:

Did a little bit a stretching in my hotel room and walked to the start line to loosen up. Stretched a little more once I was in my corral.
Run
  • 2h 19m 47s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 10m 40s  min/mile
Comments:

I would train better. Life got in the way and the training slowed right down. Didn't do enough long runs.....
What would you do differently?:

I would train better and not go out till 5:42 am Saturday morning!
Post race
Warm down:

I walked around for awhile, got my free beer and stretched. I headed back to the hotel to stretch some more and take a bath...... in my jetted tub!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training. The longest run I did was 10 miles 2 weeks before the race other then that my average runs were 8 miles.

Event comments:

There were not nearly enough 'food' aid stations. There was only 1 gel station and that was at the mile 7 mark. That sucked if you weren't prepared!

I forgot to lap on the return but I was no way a negative split! Garmin said we actually ran 13.21 miles but who's counting!!!
Course: We started at Mandalay Bay, ran down the strip to the North end and then round and about. It was kinda all over the place and it made it difficult to know where you where but then you pop'd back out onto the strip and started to pass the other runners as you headed back to Mandalay Bay.
