Total Time = 1h 31m 48s
Overall Rank = 162/339
Age Group = Male 30-34
Age Group Rank = 23/37
Pre-race routine:

Set-up usual stuff and try to figure out cycle course.
Event warmup:

None as usual.
Swim
  • 17m 38s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 21s / 100 meters
Comments:

Swam a little of course because I was drafting behind someone else.
I think the drafting helped reserving my energy for the bike, I am usually in 'no man's land' during my swim leg.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe draft off someone who is swimming in a straight line.
Transition 1
  • 01m
Comments:

Smooth transition
What would you do differently?:

Maybe learn to run and jump on bike.
Bike
  • 46m
  • 27 kms
  • 35.22 km/hr
Comments:

I went out a little too hard, averaging closer to 38km/hr, so took the 2nd lap a little easier before finding my rhythm in the last 2 laps.
What would you do differently?:

Probably not go out too hard at first.
Transition 2
  • 00m 35s
Comments:

I passed sooo many people trying to get off their bikes, I am mean honestly guys its not that hard.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, went real well.
Run
  • 26m 33s
  • 5 kms
  • 05m 19s  min/km
Comments:

It was HOT! Any water I got went straight over my head to cool me down.
I took the 1st km or so real easy and gradually stepped it up as the km's went by. This worked well and I managed to run the last km in under 4 mins.
What would you do differently?:

I still need to work on my run training but starting real easy worked well enough for me to use this strategy for Busso.
Post race
Warm down:

Jumped straight back in the water for a good 10 mins or so.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I am not running or swimming as fast as I was last year as I have really been concentrating more on my bike, so hopefully focusing all 3 in the next 6 weeks will bring it all together again.

Event comments:

I might not have swam or run well but I am just happy to be back on track.
