Overall Rank = 25/1000+

Pre-race routine:

The usual for nutrition and low key pre-race. I had to focus on staying off my feet and in the shade while waiting for 2 1/2 hours before my wave started.
Event warmup:

Swam 100m before my wave just to loosen up.
Swim
  • 24m
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 36s / 100 meters
Comments:

This was my best open water swim lately. My zig-zag pattern was minimized and I did a really good job with spotting, etc.
What would you do differently?:

Swim faster of course...
Transition 1

Bike
  • 1h 04m
  • 24.85 miles
  • 23.30 mile/hr
Comments:

I handled this bike course exactly as planned!
Good nutrition, strong pace, and I didn't get passed by anyone!

I did have a time trial line drafting off of me for a few minutes until a guy from AUS yelled at the pack. We talked for a few minutes after the U-turn and then continued on with our races.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing different to be done for this course.
Transition 2
  • 02m
Run
  • 43m
  • 6.21 miles
  • 06m 55s  min/mile
Comments:

Solid two loop run. The aid stations were evenly spaced with plenty of water!

What would you do differently?:

I may have been able to pick up the pace a little had I used my last GU. I wasn't sure if one more GU would slow me down or speed me up...
Post race
Warm down:

Not much of a warmdown...it was a long walk back to the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

It's always hot in singapore.

Event comments:

This was a very well run race. Despite the long wave starts, it kept the course manageable and not too crowded.
I would definitely do this race again!

Overall: 0/1000+
Performance: Good
The current/tide picked up around the wave before me as well as some waves. Nothing terrible, but it was a bit of a fight to get though the first 350m of the course in each lap. I finished my first lap just when the next wave started, so just when I got into a rhythm and out of a pack, i had to swim through the next wave.
