Pre-race routine:

pb sandwich and banana @ 4:45 am on way to race. I was leg 1, so I was dropped near the start. Stretched in Paul Brown stadium, out of the rain and storms. 6:10 walked down to start line in pouring rain with 26 thousand people. Half, Full, and relay all started @ 6:30am.

  • 6.84 miles

Comments:

I was happy with my pace; everyone elsein my relay was much faster so they might not be happy with me! OH well. My relay team was me, 2 marathon runners (both ran 8 min mile pace), and one person who ran 11:20 min miles.
What would you do differently?:

NO RAIN.
Post race
Warm down:

post relay leg, got shuttled to relay area in finish chute. got medal, tin foil blanket, grabbed a banana and a bagel and a bottle of water. was peeved at the people taking buckets of stuff- I felt like all that food was really necessary for the people doing the HM or the Full.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

No hill training. Where I live it is totally flat.

Event comments:

Post race was hindered by the rain!!!!
