Swim
Comments: well i definitely need to train a bit more swimming, The warm up in the water was good but i think i need more, if i had been swimming more often in the mornings i would definitely be a lot more ready for it. the beginning of the swim i went too fast and almost winded myself. But the i got back onto a decent pace. What would you do differently?: Get into better shape, with my job working at a day camp i would only be able to swim a little bit but i think that if i get into a regular schedule again i will be in great shape again. i mean if you look at it over all i think that it looks great but it made the rest of my race look really lopsided. Transition 1
Comments: well i ran out of the water but by the time i got to my bike i felt really winded. since i dont have clip on shoes it took a bit of time getting the socks and shoes on ( i took my time) i ate a clif bar then dumped some water on my head. after that i realized i was moving pretty slow so i picked up the bike and ran with it on my shoulder. people started yelling at me to calm down but at that point my composure was coming back and i was just excited to mount up. i was runnng past people passing them on the left (i was also being yelled at to keep right) i was just trying to go fast. What would you do differently?: well i have got to buy some clipless pedals and shoes. i rode the entire time in my running shoes which were a bit wide for the pedal straps. but next time Bike
Comments: I wanted to do a bit better here, but it was fun all the same. when i was alone on the course, i tended not to go as fast(which was most of the first loop) but the second loop when i was with more people getting on the course i felt a huge rush passing people and definitely picked up the pace What would you do differently?: remember to keep pushing hard when alone. I slowed up a bit too much going up hills Transition 2
Comments: pretty good dismount awesome but i pretty much walked the bike in What would you do differently?: not be so tired Run
Comments: ouch ouch owww What would you do differently?: train more running!!!!! i walked much of the way after the second mile i was so tired and not in running shape at all that i just couldnt hold a steady pace but i def had some fun talking to other walkers and jogging in the crowd. Post race
Warm down: thank god it is over!!!!! What limited your ability to perform faster: with starting a new job(s) i havent really had time to train as much as i would have like but i knew that the running would be my worst section by far. Since i averaged just about 12 min/mile if i can get that down to 8 or 9 in the next year i feel like i can really move up in the over all rankings. Event comments: i loved the race but it was an eye opener that if i had trained better in certain areas that i could be even better. As a swimmer I was not impressed with my swim time but when I saw the results online saying I was 36th overall in the swim I felt pretty good. I definitely need to train harder and more though. For next year(if I am in the lower 48) I will be training a lot harder especially on the run. I absolutely thank all of the volunteers at CGI and everyone else who gave me a keep going or a you can do it the entire time. It was by no means an easy race(for me) but all of the spectators and other racers were all for cheering on others. Last updated: 2010-02-25 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:45 AM Ate 2 plums, an orange, and a clif bar followed by an orange Gatorade. packed up the car arrived at the race lot applied numbers(lost my helmet tag) replaced it with a piece of duct tape and a shaprie.
jogged a bit around the grounds set up my transition which was interesting. i regretted leaving the small Styrofoam cooler in the car but i just covered up all water bottles in my bag and put a towel over my seat.
