Swim
Comments: Not a great swim for me. At this point in my training, I had hoped to do a little better. Can't seem to improve this leg. Sometimes feels like wetsuit is maybe too small and binding my shoulders. What would you do differently?: Need to continue to train more, look into master's swimming. Think about whether wetsuit fits properly. Transition 1
Comments: Dizzy in T1 after the swim. Not sure why, but worse than I have ever experienced. Made getting out of suit and into shoes and socks hard. Bike
Comments: Good bike leg for me. Went hard, but avoided going too hard. Wanted to take time from my split last year, but leave something for the run. Accomplished both. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Comments: Decent transition for me. Got out of shoes and into running shoes pretty easy. Ran with hat and race number while putting them on. Run
Comments: Wanted to break 40 minutes for the run, so achieved the goal. Probably my best run in the tri events I've done. What would you do differently?: Just keep training to improve times. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and stretched some. What limited your ability to perform faster: Need to continue to work on swim. That is biggest limiter now. Wanted to go under 2 hours, so was happy with performance. Took about 8 minutes from my time last year, so my form continues to improve. Event comments: This is a fun race. Good course, well organized. However, I think they allow too many entrants. 800 or so for the area is too much. There is not enough parking or racks for that many athletes. Overall, I like this race, but they need to think about either not as many athletes, or shuttles from some off-site parking. Last updated: 2010-02-27 12:00 AM
