Swim
What would you do differently?: It was my first tri so i started last to give everyone room. At the first buoy, i swam to far out then realize the group had left me. But then, i realized i can actually swim as i picked of approx 20 people. Transition 1
Comments: I had a wardrobe malfunction. When i got to T1, i noticed i had a quarter size hole in my brand new tri shorts. And guess where the whole was? Right above my privates. Luckily, i went through my bag and had a shirt that i would wear around my waste. This is the reason for the slow transition, because i flew out of there and jumped on the bike at full speed. What would you do differently?: Buy better tri clothing. Bike
Comments: Being first race, i went out hard and of course was exhausted quick. I was able to keep up a fairly decent pace i think, but i know i can do so much better. What would you do differently?: Just keep getting better on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: This went smooth. I put on my shoes, then took them off to clean the remaining sand off my feet. This also took a few seconds. What would you do differently?: Clean shoes first. LOL Run
Comments: Wow, need to do more bricks. Took me half the run to really get my legs moving. My decent time was because the last 1.2 or so miles, i started really moving. What would you do differently?: Need to get body used to bricks. I felt horrible the first mile. Also, i think hydration with my fuel belt would work better. I just could not get any of the liquids from the stations in my mouth. It all went up my nose. Post race
Warm down: None. I just had a big smile. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nutrion, Nutrition, Nutrition. And a bit of training of course. Event comments: Will definitely be my season opener. Last updated: 2005-12-08 12:00 AM
