Swim
Comments: The pool swim was amazingly OK. I passed 5 people. A couple, of course, did not let me pass at the wall. Which annoyed me to no end. I mean really, if someone plays with your feet for 25 yards and is hitting your back as you touch the wall, WHY do you push off in front of them? I held the pool rage together till the last 25. Then this one guy who wouldn't let me pass at the wall- I had had enough of him. So I started to overtake him on his right... but there was a guy swimming there that he was overtaking. I pushed my way through the middle of them and made it like an OWS race. Rubbin' is racing. Ha! Transition 1
Comments: Got dressed. Didn't want to be cold. Bike
Comments: Bike was a beat down. I was PATHETIC on the bike. When will my bike mojo return? *Prays to the bike Gods* Didn't help that half of the course was uphill and into a 25 mph headwind. Completely beat me down. I think my average there was around 15.5. Yeah. Transition 2
Run
Comments: The run sucked just as much. My feet were numb from the bike, thanks to being wet and it being cold. I felt like I was running on two block of wood for 2.5 miles. Once my feet thawed out I felt great to run and it was over. My run mojo has left as well though. I was struggling to keep a 9:30 mm and I never had a "kick" in me. Been feeling that way for almost a month now. *sigh* Post race
Warm down: Went out and ran 2 easy miles on the run course. Event comments: Overall I really liked this race. The swim was not crowded which was nice. The bike course was on decent roads that are not heavily traveled by cars on the weekend, which was nice. The hills were nice, and would have been better without a headwind. The run course was through a neighborhood and on a path. The path was skinny so I thought it would be crowded, but it wasn't. I would go back and do the race again. Last updated: 2010-03-06 12:00 AM
