Run
Comments: I was going to run with the 1:52 pace group. Met up with two other guys from the group and we decided to get out in front of the group. All was really good through mile 10. The first 7-8 miles were kinda uphill, but nothing big. We are in Dallas, remember. So at Mile 10, I took a big drink of water and felt a little ill. It was ok. I then struggled up to Mile 12.5, after that I just wanted to get off the course. I would have to say that I am happy with my time. My goal was 1:52 and I did 1:49. What would you do differently?: I would say that I would have ate more before the race. All I had is a Fiber One Poptart, Apple, Bananna and some water. I was hungry at the start. I did eat a Gu at 35 minutes and another at 1:10. I should have at one more goo about 1:35ish and likely would have not faded so bad. Also, I need to stay hydrated more on the course.. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. Post race
Warm down: Um, walk to the car to talk to Tammy. Ha, funny she followed my splits the whole race, so she knew I beat my goal time. She is the best coach and friend! What limited your ability to perform faster: I would say lack of nutrtion and fluids. Event comments: I would have to say that there only seemed to be water stations every two-three miles. It would be nice to have them every mile. Also, there was only nutrition at mile 9. I brought three Gu's with me, but would have been nice to just grab them on the course. Other than that, the race was great. The course is nice having the uphill at the first half, sets you up nice to negative split. Great race for the 1st year... Oh, would be great to have a full Mary as well.... Last updated: 2010-03-08 12:00 AM

Okay, remind me not to do a race the day of Daylight Savings Time Change again. I was kinda tired getting up early. Ate breakfast, Headed to the race. I did however take No-Xplod prior to the race, not sure if it helped. It didn't hurt, that is for sure.
Warmup, ha! It was freezing.. I just lighly stretched.
