Swim
Comments: Felt "OK" during the swim. Some slight bumping, but not bad. Probably could have swam harder, but just did not have it in me. Ironically, this felt much better than last years race. Was not nearly as tired as my practice distance of 1500 meters definately paid off. What would you do differently?: Probably need to give it more competitive effort mentally and physically. Transition 1
Comments: Struggled alittle getting the wetsuit off of my left leg where the timing chip was located. What would you do differently?: Need to run faster to transition station. Need to wear tri shirt under wetsuit. (It got stuck when i was putting it on.) NEED TO PRACTICE. should get this down to under 4 mins. Bike
Comments: Thought i had a decent ride, and did not have too many people to race against (bummer) as it probably would have pushed me harder. What would you do differently?: Definately need to train more as my butt was sore from not enought saddle time. Transition 2
Comments: Except for the 3 people standing infront of my station when i got there, this went pretty smoothly. The milk crate seat i brought helped alot! Right calf gave me a twinge of a cramp while putting on my shoes. What would you do differently?: Need to practice this as well to get it down under 1 minute. Run
Comments: I am a slow runner ... Had some cramping in my right calf again like last year. This time not quite as bad, though. Stopped to stretch about 200 meters out which helped. Started a slow jog out to loosen things up, and then fell into my usual +/- 10 minute pace. The breezes died down and it felt alot hotter as the day went on. What would you do differently?: Need to do some stretching on the bike to help eliminate some of the cramping possibly. Also need to be mentally tougher to push my run harder. Post race
Warm down: Walking and a quick trip to the bathroom! They had a 'rinse' station set up for the 3 mile swimmers, which I used to cool down and rinse off. Felt great!!! What limited your ability to perform faster: Needed better training in the final weeks of prep for the race. (Too many events that prevented me from training every day. Event comments: I like this event. It is what I expected a Triathlon to be with the flat ride and flat run. Last updated: 2010-03-08 12:00 AM
