Run
Comments: felt pretty good throughout. legs were tired going up the hills on the course. kept a pretty steady pace. hit 5K at 23:21 and 10K at 46:43 stopped at water stops for few swigs each time, knowing i was dehydrated from my festivities last night. good entertainment on course, rain held off until race was over. a bit windy at times, but headwind was more obvious on way out. What would you do differently?: eat better, drink less night before, more sleep. but this was a pr for me, so maybe i did something right! Post race
Warm down: walked thru aid stations, ate bagel, orange and drank some powerade. hit the tent where my Active Release therapy doctor was set up and let him work my legs for a few minutes. walked to car What limited your ability to perform faster: ride on saturday and just overall fatigue from IM training. Event comments: it is a good race, well organized and course never gets easier. youu just forget each year how hilly it really is. weather always stinks. but i keep coming back Last updated: 2010-03-08 12:00 AM

Start by saying that saturday i rode 40 miles in the wind, then had a surprise party to go to that involved several adult beverages and no dinner until 11:30 pm at a bar and to bed around 12:30 Pm. not a good start. got about 5.5 hours sleep, up, dressed, ate a packet of instant oatmeal, chugged a powerade and left to drive to race.
Got downtown about 20 minutes before the race was to start. It was mid 40s and forcast called for rain. struggled with my attire all morning. left car with tshirt, shorts and gloves. jogged 3 blocks to meet friends. jogged 3 blocks back to car to get jacket after realizing the 20 mph winds. jogged 3 blocks back to start. so, 9 blocks jogging was my warmup.
