Run
Comments: Goal was in the 41 range, though I'd never even looked at the course map so didn't know we were going up the big hill. Didn't really care about HR, as I've done a ton of base with not much tempo/intervals and the A races are a marathon/HIM. I have a half marry in 2 weeks so this was more to give me a pace time for the mcmillan calc. What would you do differently?: My legs were fine, I was able to do another 10k training run at 48 mins a few hours later. Post race
Warm down: Glencoe has a huge buffet breakfast and door prizes so lots of coffee and ham. Door prizes are huge - road bikes + trainers, lots of 100$ certs and the top 3 in each age group gets at least 25$ or shoes. What limited your ability to perform faster: Mental mostly I think. Not much "pain" training has been done. Event comments: Beat PR by 2.5 mins. Maybe next year into the 30s? Still improving on mostly volume. Started 10ks with a 58min a few years ago, then a 52 then a 44 now a 42. Will use this race as a pace guide for HM in 2 weeks then another 10k 2 weeks after that to see if we can get 40:X Last updated: 2010-03-09 12:00 AM

Shreddies/poptart, play with the little one.
Got there about 30-40 mins before start, decided to stick with tights instead of just shorts. Met up with several other runners, then went for a quick 1k run around the building to force a potty break. Picked up my race package from one of the other runners.
