Run
Comments: I started out feeling really good. First 4 miles were right where I wanted to be. Course was flat and I was running in the HR range I set out to run in. Then wow, where did all the hills come from? It got harder to run a level pace. I still did ok but the last 4 miles were tough. I know I would have killed this race had I run it in the direction intended. Glad I train on hills. I would have liked to have finished stronger then I did. It was a struggle to hang on but I did cross the finish line feeling like I gave it all I had so I feel good about that. What would you do differently?: Run the course in the correct direction. But some body glide on the small of my back. A bit chaffed Post race
Warm down: Tina meet me at the finish line and gave me a Diet Coke and a chocolate bar. I couldn't eat the bar so saved that until I got home. Just walked around for a few minutes then headed home. Tried to take an ice bath and lasted about 2 minutes. Icing the hip instead. I think I actually made the water too cold. What limited your ability to perform faster: Hills. No, seriously, just need more training. It's coming along Event comments: It's a small race with not a lot of folks entered so you get what you get. I think they did an OK job considering. They had to reroute the course on Thu due to the washes flowing and I think that was part of the issue with us running the correct direction. Had the day been any hotter the water stations would have been insufficient but given that the day started at 45 (brrr) it was ok. Last updated: 2010-03-10 12:00 AM

Had breakfast, hung around the house for a bit, then made the big 12 minute drive to the start of the race to get my race number and what not.
Half mile easy run and some light stretching
