Swim
Comments: I felt like I was going pretty fast, but my time says differently. It felt good though. Had to pause while some chic doing the backstroke passed right in front of me at a diagonal. Sighted pretty well but got disoriented once because my goggles fogged up and the flag I was spotting was blowing right at me so that the skinniest part of the flag was facing me, making it hard to spot. What would you do differently?: I need to work on my upper body strength, do more intervals in my training to get my pace up there. Transition 1
Comments: Put another shirt on for warmth, but nearly tried to put my helmet on first. Otherwise, I think it was a decent time. What would you do differently?: Not much. Bike
Comments: I raced much faster than I have in training and I was quite pleased with my time. What would you do differently?: I hope to get even faster when I get on some clipless pedals. Transition 2
Comments: I'm happy with this time. I didn't have to worry about shoe changes, just racked my bike, took my helmet and shirt off, put on my band, took a swig of water and off I went. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: This was a decent run for me. My calves started to cramp up a bit at first (I blame having cages instead of clipless pedals), but loosened up after a couple of minutes. I ran out harder and lost a bit of steam on the way back. Still had enough for a strong finish though. What would you do differently?: Interval training to increase my overall speed. Post race
Warm down: Oops, I didn't do this very well. Had some water and a little food, but wasn't real hungry or thirsty. Wanted to hang out with my family so I stood and sat, when I should have been walking around more. What limited your ability to perform faster: This was my first race! Event comments: This was a great race, awesome course (except a few potholes on the bike), lots of great volunteers. Couldn't hear the start of the swim waves very well, and needed more port-o-potties especially during the race. Minor complaints though as it was well-run. Last updated: 2010-03-16 12:00 AM

Took a quick shower to wake up. Had some yogurt, banana, OJ, and ww toast with peanut butter.
Had three energy bites about 25 minutes before the race, then a GU about 15 minutes before. Jogged around for a few, then did a few laps in the lake. The air was chilly and the water was really warm. Had some GI distress.
