Pre-race routine:

Up at 4:30 and ate PB and J, grits, yogurt. Rode my bike to race venue about 4 miles away. Set up transition area on end of rack only to have another competitor move my stuff and put hers there. Probably should have reported her but ....
Event warmup:

Warmed up a little with ride on way over. Too cold to warm up in the water then wait for sprint waves to start. Did a few calisthenics trying to preserve my sore foot.

Did not pace myself properly and was not properly warmed up and got breathless fast. Never did get it back and did about half the swim in breaststroke.

Pace better and better conditioning

Still on the old hybrid but it still came through for me on the rough roads and high headwinds on the causeway.Better conditioning.

Comments:

Dealing with a foot injury since July so "ran" favoring that foot. Very pleased to have completed the run but it sure was ugly. Ran through drizzle and rain.
What would you do differently?:

Heal up and train more.

Warm down:

Walked around, ate and drank and waited unsuccessfully for it to stop pouring down rain so I could ride my bike home. Oh well, I was already wet....

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Injured foot and lack of proper training and conditioning.
