Run
Comments: Started off with the 1:45 pacer, but since I was wearing my garmin I knew he was doing sub 8's - too fast for my legs so I dropped off and watched my pace. Stuck it right around 8:10 until mile 5 and felt good. I was really thirsty but for some reason I didn't drink any water. Mile 5 I was really wishing for my EFS liquid shot that I left at home. Bummer. Tried a taste of the Carb Boom they had on course - that was a no go. So, slowly my pace slowed and slowed and slowed over from mile 7 on. Mile 10 my quads started cramping. What would you do differently?: Bring my Liquid Shot and drink some water. I was so not ready for warmer weather and didn't adjust my fluid intake for the warmer weather. Pacing was good and aside from the cramping I felt like I could have held that 8:10 for the duration. Post race
Warm down: Walked and walked and walked to get my goodies then waited to see Vicky cross, missed her somehow - waited for another 30 min. and finally went up to the room. What limited your ability to perform faster: Like I said - gel and water. Event comments: Fantastic race - very well done Last updated: 2010-03-23 12:00 AM
