Pre-race routine:

I could NOT sleep last night. The bloody cats tag teamed me and made sure I was a million degrees by stretching out on each leg. Nah, I'm not that grubly at 'em, they knew I was pinging off the walls.

Ate breakfast, drank coffee, surfed the weather channel. Found out it was going to rain all friggin' day. Wonderful.
Event warmup:

It POURED during setting up of transition. I started shivering just about uncontrollably but didn't want to spend two hours in a wetsuit just standing around. Ended up putting the legs on and waiting.
Swim
  • 34m 14s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 05s / 100 yards
Comments:

I'm not entirely unhappy with this time. Yeah I could probably do better but at what price? I had fun and this swim didn't take much out of me.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. It was satisfactory to me.
Transition 1
  • 07m 31s
Comments:

I guess I had a tea party. That's okay, the transition area was LONNNGGGG and muddy as hell.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I like tea.
Bike
  • 1h 11m 9s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 20.96 mile/hr
Comments:

Oh I'm happy with this bike. Wet road, pot holes, and active rain for about half of it. WOOF. But I'm happy with it!
What would you do differently?:

Not a darn thing. I'm gonna gloat about this one.
Transition 2
  • 05m 1s
Comments:

Another tea party. I like tea.
Run
  • 58m 51s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 09m 29s  min/mile
Comments:

I do believe this is the first time I've run a 10K in under an hour and I did it in an OLY! WOOHOO
What would you do differently?:

Not a damned thing. Catch me in 5 years and see if that still holds but for now it's a high point of my tri career.
Post race
Warm down:

Wrung out everything in my transition pack and put my running shoes in the wetsuit waterproof bag because the wetsuit was the driest thing in my pack.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Possibly the fact that I suck at endurance stuff. I enjoy the hell out of it but that does not mean I'm any good.

Event comments:

MORE PORTA-POTTIES! There was not a single porta-potty on the race course. They were all outside the course markings.
