Pre-race routine:

I woke up early and had a bowl of cherrios, a large cup of coffee. Not a great pre race breakfast but I found I was out of peanut butter and power bars, this being my first race in over 28 years I thought it wouldn't make much of a difference anyway.
Event warmup:

It was cold, I trotted to the start line and jumped in place waiting for the start, I forgot my gloves and hat in the car and didn't have time to go back to get them.

Comments:

A brutally cold day with winds on the second half of the race. Miles 9-11 nearly did me in.
What would you do differently?:

Not too much. I stopped smoking in November and started running, all treadmill, all winter. I really had no structured training program and am actually happy with my performance. I hope to continue running and plan on racing more this year.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Poor training and conditioning. Cold weather and wind.

Event comments:

As has been said, a no thrills race, but a nice way to start the season.
