Comments: This is where I strained my ITB. Poor form. What would you do differently?: Need to practise sand running. It's sucky right now. Transition 1
Comments: Was already dressed, so just took off cap and put socks and bike shoes on. Need to learn to run barefoot with shoes attached. What would you do differently?: See above. Bike
Comments: I had a lot of catching up to do from the beach run. I overtook a lot of people on the bike. What would you do differently?: Go harder, and not think that just cos I am overtaking people that it's good. I needed to make up more time than that!! Transition 2
Comments: Still wearing socks. What would you do differently?: Need to learn to unvelcro shoes and run barefoot. Run
Comments: Dead last in the run. Even though I think I ran at least half of it... What would you do differently?: I need to learn to control my asthma (panic related) and just turn my legs over. Even though I reckon I was pretty fast, running over winter need to be paramount. Post race
Warm down: Stretches and walking. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of running ability! The beach sprint stuffed me for the rest of my day. Stormed the night before, there was not much we could do.
Swim cancelled due to poor water quality, 500m beach sprint instead. Was disappointed, I am a sucky runner at the best of times.
Just sand walking. I had cracked it by then.
