first 4 mile lap was good, excellent pace, felt strong, but not very technical. Second lap of 8 miles was more technical and caused me to dismount several times. rode 2/3rd alone and dropped pace.
What would you do differently?:

maintain pace, push limits, spin more instead of mash

legs were jello, ate GU prior to run and stomach was flipping. hard to get initial rythym. had to walk several times to keep from cramping.
What would you do differently?:

eat GU while on bike and drink more gatorade in transition.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

first time in a mountain bike race, first time on a mountain bike on actual mountain bike trails.

Event comments:

kept forgetting to push the lap button on my garmin when changing disciplines or getting to the transition.
