Swim
Comments: Start was difficult since everybody was taking off from the deep water. Lots of fighting for position and climbing over each other. What would you do differently?: Start closer to the front of the pack. Transition 1
Comments: Good transition, it was just really big and there was quite a run between the swim exit and my bike, then another fair distance to the mounting line. What would you do differently?: Learn how to put shoes on while riding Bike
Comments: Should have prepared better for the hill portion of this course. There was no way for me to ride the actual course before the race since this portion is on a military base and I was out of town the only day they made it available to ride. Need to practice climbing hills more. The downhill portion was a nice reward though. What would you do differently?: Practice hills Transition 2
Comments: No real problems here. Run
Comments: Unfortunately my shoes rubbed me the wrong way during the run (literally) and I ended up with the worlds largest blister on my arch. The pain from this significantly slowed my run (probably at least 30s/mile slower). There was nothing I could do about it at this point but push through the pain and limp around on it later. What would you do differently?: Try not to get a blister Post race
Warm down: Not much other than some stretching since I could barely walk due to the blister. What limited your ability to perform faster: A blister on my foot during the run. Event comments: Very organized race. This was probably one of the nicest transition areas I have ever seen! Lots of room for everyone! The course was very well marked and there were tons of volunteers pointing the right direction and cheering you on. I will definitely race this event again. Last updated: 2010-03-31 12:00 AM
