Pre-race routine:

Arrived early, got setup and checked in. Pump was acting up (leaking) so I could only get 85 lbs in my tires. Oh well.

Has some trouble un-clipping when rolling into transition (left foot only). Had to get back in the saddle to un-clip.

I just need to ride more miles.

Went out at 7:15 then backed off to average 7:30 and finished the last 1/4 at 5:18. Ran down the guy in front of me and beat him to the line area, but we had to turn off the road though a ditch as we approached the scorer. Right as we entered the back area of finish line and I tripped in a hole. The other guy was registered in front of me by a 1/10 of a second. Oh well. Next time I will run faster to put more distance between me and the next guy so this does not happen again.
What would you do differently?:

I could have gone out faster and run a better middle pace. other than that, I felt good but was breathing very heavily.

Lack of bike training, still need to pick it up in the pool.

Event comments:

It is a beginner type race with a few fast guys. For instance, two guys swam the 225 yards in 2:08 seconds. WTF.....
