Swim
Comments: Swam toward 1st buoy Getting breathing under control Started to get bumped into Tried to move away, but, no success Breathing very shallow and hyperventilating Rested on boat 'til 3rd wave past - swam from just beyond 2nd buoy to shore What would you do differently?: Need to do more OWS to prepare Very different from swimming in pool Would be good to get a couple of group swims in to get used to bumping, drafting, etc. Transition 1
Comments: Since I was a DNF, took my time 1st time I've tried to transition from swim to bike Also, put on compression sleeve and stirrup for Right calf/ankle Managed to fall as I was getting on bike just outside transition area Hopped up and took off again Bike
Comments: Tried to push a little harder on the bike OK, but, not great A little washed out after having to DNF from swim Transition 2
Comments: Another bike racked in my space, so, had to adjust Took me longer to rack than normal Run
Comments: Really slow I had put on 2 compression sleeves - 1 for calf and 1 for ankle hamstring started to cramp about 2 miles in Had to walk/run last 1.5 miles - walk (0.05) run (0.2-0.45) etc. Post race
Warm down: Light stretches What limited your ability to perform faster: Panic/Hyperventilation on swim - adrenalin rush and then crash Made it most difficult on the run Hamstring cramp on run - haven't had that happen before Event comments: Well run race Would like to try it again next year Just need to continue working on the swim and breathing Last updated: 2010-04-04 12:00 AM
